CIVIL (HYDRAULICS) ENGINEER

| Education: | Minimum M.S. in Civil/Hydraulics Engineering; prefer Ph.D. |
| Experience: | 2 to 4 years in hydraulics and hydrology |
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all aspects of stream gauging, flow rating analysis, hydrometeorologic data processing, and QA/QC of hydrometeorologic data, including hydraulic and hydrologic network evaluation for projects in Central and South Florida. Perform other activities related to civil engineering projects as necessary.
Requirements:
- Detail oriented and good organizational and communication (oral and written) skill.
- Demonstrated experience in ability to work well in a team environment.
- EIT is required (or, obtainable in 6 months), Florida PE desirable.
- Practical skills in reading and interpreting hydrometeorologic data and analyzing anomalies.
- General knowledge of water control structures, pumping stations, reservoirs, canals, and levees.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering mathematics, statistics, fluid mechanics, hydrology, and hydraulics, including advanced open-channel and closed-conduits hydraulics.
- Practical experience in flow measurements using ADCP, ADFM, ADV, etc.
- Familiarity with flow measurement errors and uncertainty analyses.
- Experience in conducting hydraulic analyses of flow structures, including culverts, spillways, pumps, and weirs.
- Experience in development and implementation of flow computation algorithms for water control structures.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS and spatial analysis with ability to compile, review and analyze data.
- High level of expertise in MS Office suite, specifically in Access, Excel and Word.
- Experience in any of the following aspects is a definite plus:
- Watershed Hydrology, Hydrologic network analysis
- Surface Water and/or Ground Water Modeling
- Hydro-meteorological data analysis, NEXRAD data evaluation and analysis
