PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of challenging geotechnical engineering activities for civil engineering projects, which may include planning and supervising subsurface explorations, laboratory testing and field monitoring, conducting geotechnical / geohydrological / geoenvironmental analyses and design evaluations, advanced seepage and deep foundation analysis, developing recommendations and preparing reports, preparing detailed design drawings and construction specifications, construction inspection, and overseeing implementation of construction quality assurance plans. The typical civil projects may include stormwater, roadway, drainage, environmental, water resources, water supply, land development, and/or utility projects in Central and South Florida. Perform project management activities on as needed basis, including project scope definition, design, cost estimating, scheduling, construction phasing, and project control.
Requirements:
- Detail oriented and good organizational and communication (oral and written) skill.
- Demonstrated experience in ability to work well in a team environment; Ability to work with minimal supervision on multidisciplinary teams.
- PE is required, Florida PE desirable.
- Progressive and proven experience in deep foundation (including pile foundation) projects, preferably in Florida.
- Direct experience in roadway projects for local, state, and/or federal agencies, preferably for FDOT.
- Experience in comprehensive geotechnical investigation for water resources related projects (water control structures/pumping stations/reservoirs/canals/levees); Florida experience desirable.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS and spatial analysis with ability to compile, review and analyze data.
- High level of expertise in MS Office suite, specifically in Excel and Word.
- Some experience in project management and construction inspection.
- Experience in any of the following aspects is a definite plus:
- USACE and/or SFWMD Projects
- Seepage and Ground Water Modeling
- Primavera P3e, construction inspection
