SENIOR GIS SPECIALIST

| Education: | Minimum B.S. in geography or other relevant disciplines; prefer advanced degree with specialization in GIS and Remote Sensing. |
| Experience: | 7 to 10 years of direct and progressive experience in USA |
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all aspects of GIS and Remote Sensing activities. Design, develop and execute GIS projects; Analyze and interpret spatial data to produce maps, reports and other products; Map geographic feature, phenomena, and event via survey and Photogrammetric methods; GPS integration; Design, develop and maintain spatial database, including GIS data compilation and construction, spatial data conversion and processing, data cleanup and validation, data QA/QC; Design, construction, and load ESRI Geodatabase; Design and program object-oriented software, and perform unit and integration testing. Perform project management, technical proposal writing, business development, and project control.
Requirements:
- Detail oriented and good organizational and communication (oral and written) skill.
- Demonstrated experience in ability to lead and work well in a team environment.
- Progressive experience in GIS Analysis and Reporting (planning, manipulating, querying, and analyzing geospatial and tabular data to produce reports in tabular and map graphic formats) using ESRI products including ArcGIS 9.x.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in the application of spatial analysis and quantitative methods in geography using ArcGIS 9.x.
- Highly skilled in GIS analysis and cartographic design using ESRI software.
- Adequate knowledge in the use of Oracle databases and ArcSDE, including SQL script writing and report generation.
- Experience in GIS Data Development (planning, designing, creating, loading, manipulating, and validating geospatial and tabular data into multi-user databases in preparation for use by staff through client software and applications).
- Ability and experience in implementing methodologies for creation and use of spatial data, including digitizing, editing, coding and annotating line, point, polygon, TIN, raster, topology, network, and terrain features.
- Experience in GIS Application Development (planning, designing, coding, testing, and deploying client and server applications and utilities to automate steps for developing, verifying, managing, manipulating, querying, analyzing, reporting, and generating map graphics from geospatial and tabular data).
- High level of expertise in MS Office suite, specifically in Access, Excel and Word.
- Experience in any of the following aspects is a definite plus:
- Remote Sensing, ESRI Geodatabase Modeling (Visio) and UML
- Environmental and Water Resources Modeling Support
- ArcHydro and ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst
- Microsoft Development Technologies (.NET)
